The Institutional Development Pilar oversees the alliance’s (Zimbabwe Homeless People’s Federation, Zimbabwe Young People’s Federation and Dialogue on Shelter for the Homeless Trust) work. The pillar is responsible for making sure that the alliance is compliant with the laws of Zimbabwe which includes but is not limited to the registration of the Alliance’s three institutions, constitutions and charters which govern the organisation.

To raise the profile and image of the alliance the pillar is responsible for networking, partnership and relationship creation. To improve the capacity of the Alliance the pillar is also responsible for assessing institutional and staff capacity gaps and then helping with necessary skills and leadership training. Some of the responsibilities of the pillar include: To maintain and improving robust financial management and accountability systems, coming up with organisational policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Development of new accountability systems and reviewing the existing systems, mobilisation/resourcing for the alliance of both financial and human resources, improving visibility and growth of the organisation, Managing Governance and compliance of the alliance, determines the roles of the alliance partners

OUTCOMES/RESULTS-

  1. To be a compliant institution with the laws of Zimbabwe by 2027
  2. To raise our profile and image of the alliance through networks/partnerships
  3. Increased funding of the alliance
  4. To maintain and improve robust financial management and accountability systems
  5. Improved capacity building of leaders through skills training

Intervention

  1. Registration to PVO
  2. Leadership trainings
  3. Finalisation of the National Constitution
  4. Development and adoption of the Zimbabwe Alliance Charter
  5. Formulation of the fundraising strategy and fundraising for the alliance’s sustainability
  6. Development of new accountability systems and reviewing of the existing systems e.g. Code of Conduct
  7. Learning Monitoring and Evaluation (LME) of the Alliance’s work.
  8. Creation of networks with other organisations
  9. Oversight of the alliance work
